Open-frame and canopied configurations.
Industrial generators are available in two main configurations, depending on where and how they’ll be used:
- Open-frame (skid-mounted) for generator rooms, plant rooms and indoor installations where the generator is housed in a dedicated space. Easier to service and maintain, lower cost, and typically used in permanent installations with existing weather protection.
- Canopied (weather-protected) for outdoor installation where the generator is exposed to the elements. Sound-attenuated enclosures reduce noise output and protect the engine, alternator and control systems from weather, dust and debris.
