Shaw Diesels services, repairs and repowers the diesel engines that drive concrete pumps; and the hydraulic and pumping systems those engines drive.
A concrete pump is two machines working as one. A diesel engine drives a hydraulic system, and that hydraulic system drives the cylinders pushing concrete down the line. When either half is down, the pump doesn’t pour. Don’t end up chasing two different specialists to work out which half is at fault.
Shaw Diesels works on both. Our engineers service and rebuild the diesel engine, work through the hydraulic circuit, and replace worn components in the pumping end. Where an engine is worn out, obsolete or no longer worth rebuilding, we can repower the machine supplying and fitting a new engine to the existing pump.

Most diesel workshops will service the engine and stop at the bellhousing. Most pump suppliers will sell you wear parts but won’t touch the engine. That split leaves the operator managing two suppliers, two diagnostic visits and two invoices for one machine that still isn’t pouring.
Shaw Diesels has been rebuilding diesel engines and building pump sets since 1988, and our workshops in Auckland and Christchurch handle both sides of a concrete pump: the engine and its ancillaries, and the hydraulic and material end it drives. One assessment, one job, one point of accountability.

Whatever the make of the pump: Putzmeister, Schwing, CIFA, Mayco, Jacon and Olin machines all work in New Zealand, and we work across them.
- Trailer and line pumps —towable and skid-mounted units with their own dedicated diesel engine, such as the Jacon S30, S45 and S63, used for slabs, foundations, blockfill and difficult-access pours
- Truck-mounted line pumps — deck-mounted pumping units and the auxiliary engines that drive them

DEUTZ engines have powered trailer and stationary concrete pumps for decades. Shaw Diesels is New Zealand’s most awarded DEUTZ dealer.
Jacon trailer pumps are the concrete pumps we see most often, and they run DEUTZ: the Jacon S30 and S63 on the four-cylinder BF4L2011, and the Jacon S45 on the air-cooled BF4L914. Mayco’s LS series is DEUTZ-powered too. The LS400 runs a 57 kW BF4L2011 turbo diesel and the LS300 a TD2009L04. Putzmeister’s BSA trailer and stationary pumps have long been DEUTZ, from the 55 kW BSA 1005 through to the 140 kW six-cylinder BSA 1409, and Schwing’s SP and BPA stationary pumps have used DEUTZ including the four-cylinder BF4M2012.
The BF4L2011 in a Jacon S30, S63 or Mayco LS400 is an oil-cooled engine from the DEUTZ 2011 series, and the BF4L914 in a Jacon S45 is from the air-cooled 914 family. These are precisely the engines Shaw Diesels still carries parts for, still rebuilds, and can supply as DEUTZ Xchange units.
Shaw Diesels has been New Zealand’s authorised DEUTZ dealer since 2001, and DEUTZ New Zealand Dealer of the Year every year from 2016 to 2024. On a DEUTZ-powered pump that means factory parts, factory technical support and factory-remanufactured components — from the dealer, rather than from a workshop working it out as it goes.
